Politics of the Gaze: Gender, Sexuality and the Moving Image, 15 hp

The course offers an advanced introduction to critical approaches to questions of gender, sexuality and ethnicity in the field of cinema and the moving image. The course focuses on key concepts (e.g. representation, gaze, desire, emotion/affect, identification, politics) and contemporary debates within feminist, queer and postcolonial perspectives, and the challenges they pose to the study of audiovisual media.
