Mathematics III - Complex Analysis

Complex analysis, where we study functions of complex numbers, is useful in many branches of pure and applied mathematics. The contents of this course may be applied in modeling in for example physics.

In this course you will learn, besides the basics of complex analysis, to explain and use methods in complex analysis to solve mathematical and applied problems, and to account for and prove the fundamental theorems on analytic functions.

Like many of our courses in the Matematics III category, this course is sometimes given as a distance course and sometimes given on campus.

Course contents

The course treats analytic functions, integration and series expansion of analytic functions, residue calculus, conformal mappings, harmonic functions, applications in physics.
