Assessment Methods in Nutrition and Physical Activity, 7.5 hp

The course aims to give the student a deeper understanding of the use and validity of modern assessment methods in nutrition, physical acitivity and body composition. The importance of study design, study size, number of assessment days, and the choice of statistical methods for the reliability of a study is also addressed. The course includes calculation exercises and practical applications of assessment methods in physical activity and dietary intake. How to evaluate reported dietary intake in relation to different reference values are dealt with thoroughly.
The above mentioned knowledge is critical in all working areas that require an understanding of the scientific evidence behind the relationship between nutrition, physical activity and health.
