This course delas with the dynamic processes of cultural politics within the East Asian countries, and how these processes forms the local, regional and national as well as transnational identities within a given period of time.
The focus of the course is placed current strategies of the cultural politics in the East Asian countries, that are made in order to meet the contemporary challenges of a time when culture is considered as a key dimension in globalisation. As a backdrop for understanding current features in cultural politics and how it has been developed in Japan, China, North- and South Korea, earlier priorities will also be discussed.
Area of interests: Language and Linguistics
Languages open doors to other cultures, experiences, business contacts and collaboration between countries. At Stockholm University you can study nearly 30 different languages.
