The course comprises both phylo- and ontogenetic aspects of the development of human language, with a focus on the latter.
It provides a basic understanding of available evolutionary models of the emergence of human language.
Further, our current knowledge of child language acquisition is discussed and problematised by applying the rasterised view of a number of theoretical paradigms, particularly constructivism/emergentism and generativism.
