This course is given the second term in the Bachelor’s Programme in Nutrition. It constitutes a basis for further studies in nutrition or related subjects. The course covers basic anatomy, which includes the structure and composition of the human body. Changes that occur in disease will also be discussed. The course also includes an introduction to public health nutrition, with emphasis on the relation between diet and national diseases including cancer, obesity, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, and malnutrition.
