This course focuses upon the use of transmission electron microscopy for structural studies. It will provide deeper insight in the theory how images and electron diffraction patterns are formed in a microscope. The course will give you practical training and theoretical background for structural analysis using conventional as well as scanning transmission electron microscopes (TEM and STEM). It also present how electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) can be used to obtain structural and chemical information of a material. The course is a recommended course in the Masters program in Materials chemistry at Stockholm university.
