Description
The course provides theoretical and methodological tools for critically analyzing and interpreting social meanings of multilingualism in institutional, private, and public spaces and across a range of semiotic modes and media. It explores the historical trajectory of bi- and multilingualism research, and engages with contemporary approaches to studying language and power in globalized multilingual contexts. Additionally, the course develops research skills to create new sociolinguistic knowledge in the field of bi- and multilingualism studies.
