Masters Programme in English Literature, 120 ECTS

The MA in English Literature offers courses on specialist aspects of English literature where key texts are studied from a range of theoretical perspectives including aesthetic, historicist, narratological, theological, and sociological perspectives. The programme has an interdisciplinary dimension, promoting types of literary reflection that blur or cross methodological borders by exploring interfaces between different analyses and interpretations. This programme is taught over four semesters. In the first semester you will take four 7.5 HEC courses on fictional worlds, poetry, postcolonial literature and research ethics. In the second semester you take four 7.5 HEC course in Reformation literature, law and narrative, postcolonial literature, and academic English. The third semester consists of two 7.5 HEC courses on limits in literature, plus a 7.5 HEC optional course to be decided later.
