The Master’s programme in Chinese is a two-year study programme (120 ECTS) in the second cycle. The first semester of the programme is a lingusitic preparation in Chinese for the subsequent studies in China. The semester also contains second cycle courses in Advanced academic English and Research ethics. The second and third semester the studies are conducted at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. The studies will include language studies, China studies and studies in research theory and methodology. The final semester will be devoted to the Master’s degree project. The studies at Stockholm University result in a Master’s degree in the Languages and Cultures of Asia. The foci of the programme are studies of the Chinese language and a thorough examination of cultural and societal aspects of modern China. The programme is conducted together with the Nordic universities in Aarhus, Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm and in co-operation with Zhejiang University in Hangzhou.
