The one-year Master programme in European Economic Law (EEL) at Stockholm University is an internationally renowned advanced legal degree programme with a twenty-year long history and a large community of alumni, many of them having prominent positions at European institutions, academic centres and law firms. The programme opens with a mandatory course in Advanced European Economic Law (15 ECTS). Thereafter students have the opportunity to specialize in one of three cutting-edge areas of EEL (15 ECTS each): EU Competition Law, EU Banking and Financial Law, and the Internal Market and its Social Dimension. During the second term students take a course in Methods in Research and Practice (15 ECTS), where they develop skills in applying European legal methods through participating in a EU Moot Court and through interactive seminars and research workshops. The programme concludes with a master thesis on a selected topic of EEL (15 ECTS). The teaching staff includes former judges and present members of the EU Court, as well as reputed academics and practitioners in the field. The programme is a full-time course of study and requires active participation.

If that is the case we have a lot to offer. This area of interest covers anything from Pedagogy, Psychology and Gender Studies, to Statistics, Political Science, Law and many other subjects. Their common denominator is the relation between human beings and society, independent analytical thinking and often an international perspective.

Law
The Department of Law offers the following courses and programmes:
1. The Law Programme leading to a Master of Laws Degree, 270 HEC, or a Bachelor of Legal Science, 180 HEC.
2. Single studied courses are offered on basic level, such as Introductory course in Commercial Law, 15 HEC, and Labour Union Law, 15 HEC, and on advanced level, such as Insurance Law, 15 HEC, and Marine Insurance, 15 HEC. Courses in Commercial Law are offered as single studied courses or as parts of certain study programmes within social science (e.g. business administration). The Introductory course in Commercial Law, 15 HEC, gives special eligibility for some other courses within Commercial Law.
3. Two different Master’s degree programmes, each worth 60 HEC, are open to law graduates: Master of Laws (LL.M.) (60 credits) in European Intellectual Property Law and Master of Laws (LL.M.) (60 credits) in International Commercial Arbitration Law. All Master programmes are given in English.
4. Postgraduate studies leading to the degree of Doctor of Laws or Licentiate in Laws can be pursued in the field of jurisprudence. The degree of Master of Laws is required, but even foreign law graduates may become eligible after completion of certain supplementary courses.
