Knowledge concerning thermodynamics, atoms and molecules, radiation and chemistry is the starting point for describing processes that govern weather and climate. Focus is on understanding the physics and chemistry underlying the atmosphere’s thermal structure, the greenhouse effect, and important chemical cycles.
