The Master’s programme in Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology is aimed at students holding a Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry or biology and who wish to study the molecular function of the nervous system. The programme aims to provide students with a sound multidisciplinary background in neurochemistry, molecular neurobiology and recombinant techniques. The programme is closely connected with research at the Department and designed to cover most specializations within neurochemistry with molecular neurobiology including the molecular mechanisms behind neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s disease.

The programme consists of one compulsory course and the three specialized courses offered, up to 30 credits freely chosen elective courses and a Degree Project in Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology, conducted in a research group at the Department.

The programme provides a good platform for further graduate studies or for a professional career, both in Sweden and internationally.
