Today’s rapid technological development means that the demand for high level competence in the IT field is growing. The master’s programme in Computer and systems sciences gives you an opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in relevant areas in preparation for a successful professional or research career

There are a number of recommended specializations to choose from. Are you interested in contributing to a more sustainable and less vulnerable information society? Then you can select the track of information security. Would you rather focus on the construction and design of e.g. mobile services, so choose the track of interactive systems. Additional specializations are towards information and communication technologies, systems development and systems analysis. You are also free to combine different courses to get an education that is tailored to your specific needs.

The education gives you a deeper knowledge of theories and methods but also practical skills in the area or areas you have chosen. In addition, you study a number of general courses of course such as scientific communication and research methodology. These courses prepare you for your thesis work and open the door for a possible research career.

The Department of Computer and Systems (DSV) is located in Kista and belongs to both the Faculty of Social Sciences at Stockholm University and the Royal Institute of Technology. This dual membership means that DSV can offer a wide range of courses and insights into research that spans a wide field.
