Master Programme in Systems Analysis, 120 ECTS

Decision making is the core essence in many enterprises and in many professions – from strategic decision making in management of companies to decision making made by the individual co-worker.

The decisions can deal with everything from purchasing enterprises to whom at the customers, one should contact. In many cases the decisions are based on long experience of making similar decisions. In other cases the decisions are made on a more intuitive basis or guesses – despite of access to data that could have been used to make more proper decisions.

The program starts with advanced courses in system analysis, as data warehousing and information extraction, decision and risk analysis, and finally simulation and modeling. After the advanced courses the student can take part in deeper studies in business intelligence or knowledge management or some applied areas (e.g. market communication). During the last semester, (the fourth semester), the student will carry out the master thesis work in a specific topic, perhaps at a company.

This education will make the student skilled in using technical system that supports decision making. These systems compile and analyze data for a certain decision case. The student then uses scientific methods to analyze the consequences of the decisions.
